Know before you go. We appreciate our guests being aware of and understanding our practices and policies. These are frequently asked questions:

Does Spoon accept reservations? Yes. Though we do accept walk-ins, space is limited. Reservations Are Highly Recommended. We are a very small restaurant  in a busy little town.  On the day of your reservation, you will receive a confirmation text from the owner, by 1pm. If you have not replied “yes” within an hour, we will send another text. If we do not receive a text reply by 4pm, you must call the restaurant number 530-581-5400 and speak to someone personally to confirm your reservation.

Is there a time limit on reservations? Each reservation is assigned 90 minutes. Please be mindful of this, as your time will be shortened if your party is late; so that we don’t keep the next guests waiting.  If you are going to be more than 10 minutes late, and have not spoken with us to let us know, your table may be given to another party. This is the only way that we can organize our table service schedule. No shows or cancelling at your reservation time are disrespectful.

Is there a size limit on reservations? Tables of 6 or less guests only-Please do not call the owner (even if we know and love you) pushing for a larger party, we do not have table space or staff to accommodate. We only have two tables that can fit more than four people. Very occasionally, we are able to early in the day (like arriving at 3 or 4pm) accommodate a table of 8. Splitting a group to two tables affects us in the same way as one large table, Yes, children that sit in a chair count as a whole person. Please understand: Our goal is to create a quality experience for everyone; not  just to try and squeeze as many customers in.

What about guests with allergies and/or dietary preferences? We pride ourselves on have a menu that offers a little something for almost everyone. We can’t list every ingredient for each menu item. If you have any food allergies, please let us know, so we can advise you on choices for your meal. Calling in advance is even more helpful. Very extreme or unusual allergies may not be able to be accommodated. Our kitchen is NOT a gluten free or allergen free facility. Because our dishes are prepared to-order, during normal kitchen operations, despite our best efforts, foods may come in contact with one another. Menu items are marked on our menu with the following symbols: *=possible allergen- nuts, sesame or seafood. V=Vegetarian item- no cheese is an option for some items. GF= Gluten free

Does Spoon offer takeout? Yes. However, we sometimes stop accepting takeout orders for the evening due to high volume & staff shortage. Many folks call when we open to arrange a pickup later in the evening. (Ex: call at 3:00 to arrange a 5:30 pickup.) If our restaurant and reservation book is full, or we already have advance takeout orders in the que; we will always prioritize the orders/guests that we already have. Please do not wait until you are hungry during the dinner rush (between 5:45-7:45) and then call & get “hangry” if we can not accept your order.

Does Spoon accept larger orders? Very large orders (ex: you are feeding more than 8 people) are best to be planned further in advance, as we prep and order ingredients accordingly. Call us to see what is available. 530-581-5400. Ordering a day in advance is best if you are planning a larger order, as this is considered a catering order for our tiny kitchen. All very large orders must be picked up by 5:00.

Does Spoon add gratuity to any orders? Takeout orders of 6 items or more, or dine-in tables of 6 people or more, have 18% gratuity included in the total.

Is Spoon dog-friendly? During the warm season, any dog is welcome in our outdoor patio space; as long as our “dog patio rules” are adhered to. We may ask that your dog be removed from the patio if any of these rules are broken. During all seasons, service dogs are welcome in our dining space, according to the guidelines on ADA.gov. Emotional support or comfort dogs, while precious and loved, do not qualify as service dogs.

What are the dog patio rules? Dogs must be on a leash, at your table, on the ground. No barking, biting or begging. Servers must be able to access the table and walkways. No dog, regardless of size may be on your lap, on a table or in a chair. Do not share your plate or glass with the dog, as we have special dishes for our canine diners. We will ask that all aggressive or disruptive dogs be removed. Spoon is not responsible for any harm done by animals to other animals, humans or our premises. We may not have space for multiple dogs at certain tables, nor space for large dog strollers or dog beds.

Thank you so much! We can’t wait to feed you!
